As you all know winter is just around the corner and no matter how you heat your home it's going to be very costly this year. Now is the time to repair or replace those broken or drafty windows. If you live in an older home that has storm windows, take a walk around and be sure that they are all closed and closed correctly with the exterior window in the upper position. Be sure that your interior windows are all closed and locked as this will make certain your upper sash hidden behind curtains and shades is not partially open allowing your fuel dollars to fly out the window. For those of you with newer homes that have insulated glass (double pane) be sure that none of them are fogged up inside because of seal failure. It is without a doubt a non-efficient window that is radiating the cold directly into your home. Please pass this info onto friends and family as the 2008 heating year will be one to remember.
